HMD Global’s Nokia aims to disrupt the mid-range smartphone race with its Nokia 3.1 Plus. HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones has announced the Nokia 3.1 Plus in India, a smartphone which goes big on content experiences thanks to its 6-inch HD+ display and a weekend busting two-day battery life1. The Nokia 3.1 Plus is the most affordable Nokia smartphone with a dual-camera in the mid-range price spectrum.

The Nokia 3.1 Plus latest device to join the Android One family, delivering the best of Google with monthly security patches. The Android One experience offers timely updates from Google Android. After Micromax, Xiaomi and Motorola, Nokia was the latest brand to join the Android One bandwagon.

The Nokia 3.1 Plus boasts of a large 6-inch 720p IPS panel without a notch. The absence of the notch gives the phone an aspect ratio of 18:9. The 2.5D glass on the front smoothly transitions into the polycarbonate body of the phone which will be available in colours of Black, Blue & White. The phone features a fingerprint scanner at the center-back of the phone.

The Nokia 3.1 Plus delivers great viewing experiences in its category thanks to its 6-inch HD+ display and 18:9 aspect ratio, squeezing in more of your favourite news feeds, apps and videos making it ideal for content streams and social media. With its 3500mAh battery life, video and gaming lovers have a great time with this phone. The 3.1 is powered by Mediatek Helio P22. The chipset also provides a boost during intensive tasks like watching videos to ensure a sustainable high performance and a consistently reliable experience. Its precision fit, CNC-machined rear aluminium cover delivers a seamless, pure design and combines with a die-cast metal structure for impressive solidity. The Nokia 3.1 Plus’s matte, highly tactile finish with diamond cut detailing and curved 2.5D glass offers a precision crafted premium feel.

In the optics department, we have a dual camera set up with 13MP Phase Detection Auto Focus main camera. The rear camera also includes a 5MP sensor for rear depth sensing imaging to let you take professional studio style shots with selectable bokeh blur and allow you to adjust blur even after the image has been taken. On the front, there is an 8MP camera to make your selfies stand out. With its high-quality dual camera photography and AI-accelerated experiences powered by the octa-core chipset, the Nokia 3.1 Plus compete well with its competitors.

Nokia 3.1 Plus is an Android One phone that runs on Android Oreo 8.1 out-of-the-box and is guaranteed to receive monthly security updates and OS updates for 3 & 2 years respectively. The presence of Android One ensures that the phone is free of bloatware out of the box.

On Connectivity front, the 3.1 includes VoLTE, VoWiFi, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/AGPS+GLONASS+BDS+Galileo. The phone houses a combo SIM slot which means that you can either use a nano SIM and a microSD card or two nano SIMs at once.

The phone is priced at INR 11,499 for the 2GB/16GB variant while the price for the 3GB/32GB variant is yet to be disclosed. It will be available from 19th October on Nokia’s online store and most major offline stores.
