Jio Cinema and Jio TV now accessible by web.
Reliance Jio, the newest 4G only telecom service provider in India has launched its digital media applications online. At this moment, the television viewing app ie. Jio TV and Jio Cinema has been launched online.
The availability was first reported by Telecom Talk and Jio TV basically works with any browser. However, users need to log in using Jio ID to watch all shows. In order to view the content, one needs to go jiotv.com website and log in. The layout is pretty much similar to the app.
Users get an option to view different channels along with featured content and more. Users can also watch previous episodes and shows, similar to what we have seen in the application. As for the JioTV app is concerned, it is already available for Android and iOS platforms.
Only for Jio users
The access to JioTV on the web will be exclusive to Jio SIM users and can be accessed via jiotv.com. Reliance Jio says that the JioTV offers over 500 channels including 60 HD channels available in 10 categories and 15 languages. It also offers the choice to view content aired in 7 days. The JioCinema claims to have a collection of over 1 lakh+ hours of HD content which include movies, music videos and popular TV shows.
In future, as data becomes super-cheap, users could view HD TV channels by plugging HDMI cable. Jio TV also allows sporting events via Hotstar to be viewed. With the web access, users can connect their laptop to TV via HDMI cable to view any content. As of now, there are no updates on the web version of Jio Music app. The domain belongs to Jio Infocomm, so in near future, users can listen to ad-free HD songs too.
